Cats on Easter Eggs

Getting ready for Easter, I have found something that made my cat person’s soul smile :) As I am Ukrainian, and our cat is carrying a Ukrainian name Murchyk, and as Easter is about Easter Eggs, I've spotted something that has all three in one: Ukrainian, Easter Egg and a cat! I am talking about amazing painted Ukrainian Easter Eggs with cats on it – an art from Becky. She lives in Pennsylvania, USA. Becky is making Ukrainian Easter Egg, I would say, all her life, since she was a schoolgirl. Among traditional Ukrainian patterns on eggs, Becky likes to create some very unusual pictures and images on eggs. Like this one – a cat-angel that she created back in 1998:

Or this one, that Becky has made, actually, to a Valentine’s Day and named it Purrfect Love:

What an art! I am totally in love with those cute kitties on eggs and they are definitely getting me into the Easter spirit!
And I am also very pleased to know that Becky is a bighearted cat person – a one of us, cats’ friends!

Easter Cat

Remember Ira, a daughter of my best friend? Ira is a big cat person. She lives in a city and she doesn’t have a cat of her own (yet), but she dreams about it very much.
Well, I would say that Ira does have few cats in a country, where her Grandmother lives – actually, Ira’s Grandma is taking good care about the cats and Ira can see them every time when she is visiting her Granny.
Today I would like you to meet Ira’s favorite cat; he is a male and his name is Musek. Ira has visited her Grandma just recently, for Easter, and she brought some pictures of her sweet Musek, and she shared them with me (thank you, Ira!).
Here is my favorite photo of Ira’s Musek. I call him Easter Cat :) – as you can see on the picture, Musek is so curios about those Easter Eggs. The eggs, by the way, are painted with onion shells broths. This is a traditional way of coloring Easter Eggs in Ukrainian countryside: nothing artificial, everything natural – onion shells broth, beet juice etc. And this is the way cats live in Ukrainian countryside – they like to drink a fresh milk, just from a cow; they actually doesn’t know what is it a cat food from a store – they are eating home cooked meal only. So do Musek :)

I hope you had a great Easter too!

Something New for Easter: Beaded Easter Egg With A Kitty On It

Bunny Rabbit is a symbol of Easter – it’s a worldwide known fact. But as a cat person, I wanted something cat-related to my Easter. And I got it! I got this cute Easter Egg with a kitty on it - bought it in 2011 in Ukraine, during my family trip to this amazing country. Well, take a look what I got:
Beaded Easter Egg Cat Ukraine
It is unusual in three ways.
  1. Traditionally Ukrainian Easter Eggs are painted. This one is a modern one – a beaded Easter Egg.
  2. It is not simply beaded, like, patterned and that’s it – this one got a cute little black-grey kitty on it – what else cat person like me can wish for Easter?
  3. Also, my beaded Easter Egg with cute black-grey kitty-cat got can be hanged on a wall, on a ceiling, even on a Christmas tree as a Christmas ornament – I am not sure if it’s proper from a traditional point of view, but it is handy and multifunctional. And I love multifunctionality! And I LOVE cats and cat-related stuff!
