Murchyk's First Real Interest in a Big Screen - Video

Well, hello everyone! It has been a while since I posted something here. Now it is about time - our Murchyk the cat made our movie night!
My husband and I were watching a nature documentary. Our Murchyk the cat was watching with us as always. Well, he is not normally watching - he is mostly sleeping all our movie nights. But last night he got unexpectedly excited of this nature documentary. He seems really interested what this Big Kitty (a snow leopard) is doing on a screen. Our movie night end up watching not as much of documentary - we were amazed how our cat is reacted on it. Of course, we started filming this reaction on a video, which we are sharing with you now. Hope you have as much fun watching our beloved kitty as we did:

The Guard of Our Garden - Murchyk the Cat

Every year our vegetable garden has three kinds of uninvited and undesirable guests: cabbage butterflies, snails and rabbits. If let them to do what they want to do at our garden – be specific, to eat what they want to eat – we can forget about our harvest.
We have few individual methods how, actually, to make those uninvited guests of the garden to feel uninvited, and our Murchyk the cat being real help in it. Seriously! Not only Murchyk the cat, but some his cat-related, let say, gadgets :)
For example, I have read somewhere that rabbits normally don’t like a smell of cat’s urine and they don’t go very close to the area where they smell a cat. So what I do regularly, I am spreading a content of Murchyk’s litter on the borders of the garden, and… it works! After I am doing this, approximately once per week, I didn't see rabbits at our garden for while. So if you are vegetable gardener as well and your garden is suffering from visits of bunny rabbit, you can use this method, too. I wouldn't recommend to do it though if you cat’s litter is made out of clay, with adding some other stuff, like chemicals etc. (more than that, I wouldn't recommend a litter with chemicals in it to use for cat, never mind garden). Only if your cat is using some organic litter, like pine clumping or other natural stuff, you can spread it around your garden without any fears that natural environment of the garden will be damaged.
Our Murchyk the cat use pine clumping (the one on the picture below) – he is very happy with it! And my husband and I are very happy, too, when it’s come to chasing rabbits away from the garden.
Pine Clumping Litter is Very Good For Cats
Also, as I mentioned earlier, as rabbits cannot stand a smell of the cat, very often our kitty-cat is being a guard of our garden himself – at the video below you can see, how he is chasing a rabbit away from our yard:
Just like a dog – he chased the rabbit to the border of our (and his, Murchyk’s) property, that’s it!
We love you, the guard of our garden!

Candace’s Cats

In a previous story you read about my friend Candace’s cat-related arts and crafts; now it’s time for you to get to know Candace’s cats!
Oh, they are so handsome, beautiful, and sweet, and cute, and smart ones! I was babysitting Candace’s cats once, for a week, so I learnt a lot about them.
So, meet Panther, here he is:
Panther the Cat
Panther is 11 years old black male. Actually, he is the oldest one in this cat family, but I would say, he looks almost the youngest :) Maybe it is because he is black :) Maybe it is because he is fuzzy :) Maybe it is because he is very independent cat and he found his special way of living in our mountains country, wisely balancing between local wildlife and homesteading. Panther is not “kissy-kissy” (or “catsy-catsy”) type of cat; as I told you, he is independent fellow, but he loves his human family so much and he cannot imagine his life without Candace, her husband Ron and their sons Jon and Zack.
Next cat male in the family is Jessy. He is 6 years old white-grey kitty-cat:
Jessy the cat
Jessy is more domesticated; he is listening (almost always) what his human friends tell him to do, like, “eat”, “come home”. Jessy only one in his cat family can drink a water directly from a tap! Really cute!
Also Jessy like to socialize with next cat in Candace’s home – Miley:
Miley the Cat
Miley is fuzzy female, approximately the same age with Jessy, so they are one “generation”, I would say – that’s probably why Jessy and Miley are buddy-buddy. Oh, and Miley is the one talking cat! Every her "meow" sounds in different way and full of some certain meaning, like "I am hungry", "Rub my belly", "Let me out" etc. Yes, all the cats in Candace's house are indoor-outdoor ones, which means, they know a taste of healthy fresh air and cat's freedom, but they also remember very well, where is their home
Another cuteness living in Candace's house is 7 months old multi-colored female Poose. I don’t have picture of her so far; but I will photograph her, definitely – he is oh soooo cute! Not because she is still a kitten, by age, but because of her very interesting personality.
So, that’s about it about Candace’s cats so far. More stories to come!

Candace’s Cat-Related Arts and Crafts

Candace is a very nice friend of mine; she is a cat lady like me :) Only I have one Murchyk the cat at home and Candace got four beautiful kitty-cats, their names are Jessy, Miley, Panther and Poose.
So as we both, Candace and I, are cat ladies, her and mine houses are full of different cat-related stuff, like crafts, accessories, kitchen stuff etc. And every time, before Christmas or Candace’s birthday, if I see in a store some nice thing with a kitty-cat on it and, of course, I want to get it to Candace, the first question that’s popping up in my mind is, “What if Candace is already has it?” Why I ask myself this question – it is because Candace got oh so many nice, cute and marvelous cat pictures, figurines, mugs, plates, etc. etc. that I really afraid I can bring her a duplicate of the one of these cat goodies.
Well, the picture above that I gave to Candace is really one-of-a-kind and I bought it in Ukraine – at least, Candace never been to Ukraine (yet), so I was absolutely sure, she doesn’t have something like that. Now she does – dancing cats, ceramic picture:
Dancing Cats Ceramic Picture from Ukraine
I also was worried if Candace will find a room for this picture at her busy walls – busy with cat pictures, of course :) – but she did! Yay! It was not simple task though, I guess – please take a quick look at Candace walls! Above the door – “Cat Nap on a Dog Day Afternoon”:

At the kitchen – an amazing wall clock with plenty of kittens on it:

Especially I love this part with a quote “Cat Leave Pawprints on Your Heart”:
Cats Leave Pawprints on Your Heart
And I love this one so much, with another famous cat-related quote – “There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: Music and Cats.” Albert Schweitzer
Music and cats
Every piece of space in Candace’s house used very wisely and every cat-related craft is doing some work for a house functioning – like this metal-carved hook:
Kitty-Cat Metal Carving
Or these cute candle holders:
Kitty-Cat Candle Holder

Cat Candle Holder
Or the cutest cat-related mug I have even seen – Decatf Catffeinated one:
Decatffeinated mug

Decatffeinated Cup
If you are probably thinking I showed you ALL the Candace’s arts and crafts with kitty-cats on it, you are wrong – this is just a part of her cat-related goodies; I think, not even half of everything what she got during many years as gifts for Christmas, birthdays etc.
Well, I cannot resist showing you few more pieces – a decorative kitty-plate:
Decoravite Plate Kitty-Cat
Male-female cats figurines:
Kitty-cats figurines
And that’s about it. For today :)
Have you got some cat-related arts and crafts, my dear readers – cat persons? I am sure you do. Please feel free to share some with us, Murchyks' blog fans – at our Facebook Fan Page.
Thanks for watching, reading and being good cats’ human friends, which, I am sure, you are!

Agricats

Cat is sitting on eggs
I don’t know the name of this sweetie, but he/she is so cute, sitting on that eggs! Really into agricultural thing!
And here is our agricultural cat, at the picture below:
Murchyk the cat is guarding our garden
I am sure you have recognized him from other posts in this blog. Yep, this is our kitty-cat, his name is Murchyk. He is indoor-outdoor cat and he is such a good guard for our vegetable garden! Murchyk is hunting for white butterflies which are laying eggs at our crops, which is not good for the vegetables, of course. Also, our cat is chasing rabbits out of our garden – well, we kinda like rabbits, but we don’t like what they do to the garden – I am sure, every gardener is understand us.
So, we are glad we got our little helper at the garden – our sweet kitty!

Something New for Easter: Beaded Easter Egg With A Kitty On It

Bunny Rabbit is a symbol of Easter – it’s a worldwide known fact. But as a cat person, I wanted something cat-related to my Easter. And I got it! I got this cute Easter Egg with a kitty on it - bought it in 2011 in Ukraine, during my family trip to this amazing country. Well, take a look what I got:
Beaded Easter Egg Cat Ukraine
It is unusual in three ways.
  1. Traditionally Ukrainian Easter Eggs are painted. This one is a modern one – a beaded Easter Egg.
  2. It is not simply beaded, like, patterned and that’s it – this one got a cute little black-grey kitty on it – what else cat person like me can wish for Easter?
  3. Also, my beaded Easter Egg with cute black-grey kitty-cat got can be hanged on a wall, on a ceiling, even on a Christmas tree as a Christmas ornament – I am not sure if it’s proper from a traditional point of view, but it is handy and multifunctional. And I love multifunctionality! And I LOVE cats and cat-related stuff!
